Just an FYI - the “teen page” on our website (www.elreno.lib.ok.us) has been done away with. If you click the “Young Adult” link, you’ll come straight to this blog. :)
Waddaya think about that??

We created some weird sock puppets yesterday at “Gocks: The Goth Sock Puppet Experiment.” I don’t know how goth they were…but they were certainly strange and wonderful!
check pics out at our flickr page.

Some dangerously dastardly decisions were made at the last TAB meeting. If you feel left out - don’t fret. We’ll have another TAB meeting Sept. 20 from 5-6 pm & we’ll be planning a Pirate Party!
Yes, a Pirate Party! To celebrate Banned Books Week (Sept. 29 - Oct. 6) TAB is hosting a Pirate Party on Sept. 28. Click HERE to vote for your favorite pirate/book slogan.
There’s no school that Friday, so start preparing now for some serious swashbuckling between 3 and 4 pm that day.

We’ll start planning all kinds of fun stuff for this fall - so come with great ideas! If you don’t have great ideas then we’ll end up making Gocks. Yes, those are gothic sock puppets.

Some of you are already back in class, some of you start Friday. It’s crazy how fast summer is ending.
For the 10th - 12th graders at EHS - we’ll pick up with Thursday lunches right where we left off. Every Thurs. you can grab lunch and bring it over to the library. We eat, we read, we gossip…it’s great fun. We usually get a great turnout of both guys and gals.
We got a bunch of new YA books - as well as some new fantasy stuff in this week. A few highlights:
Dramarama by E. Lockhart (of Boyfriend List and Boy Book fame)
Boot Camp by Todd Strasser (this looks pretty gritty…need someone to read it and let me know how upsetting it is…)
2 new ”Alice” books by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
…and lots of other stuff! Come check them out!
Happy (ok, at least not disgustingly horrible) new school year!
